California Correctional Health Care Services

Providing planning, design, development, configuration, testing, deployment, support, maintenance and knowledge transfer activities for .NET web applications related to the clinical application migration project. The goal of the project is the migration of all .NET clinical web applications to the new State of California Tier-III datacenter along with best practices architectural and enterprise level recommendations. 

California Travel & Tourism Commission

Providing software development services for enhancements to an existing ASP.NET web-site. The enhancements included replacing business logic classes and related database stored procedures with new functionality as indicated in the design.  Performing requirements analysis, design, development, unit testing, regression testing, integration testing, system testing, and documentation.  Provided open and frequent oral and written communication with management of the project.

Foundation for California Community Colleges

Responsible for entire automated solution including business modeling and work-flow processes both automated and manual along with software project planning, requirements, design and development of a web-application to automate the determination of eligibility, claims processing and reporting. Involved in all aspects of software design and development (Software Development Lifecycle Process) including participating in concept meetings, performing requirements analysis, design, development, unit testing, regression testing, integration testing, system testing, and documentation.

State Of California:  Air Resource Board (ARB)

Responsible for overall software design and development of a web application (emission trading system) for California Regulated Parties to report Quarterly and Annual fuel data.

Foundation for California Community Colleges

Responsible for overall software design and development of a web application for tracking youths’ progress along with reporting function needed by the program financial funder. The web-application is currently used by 20 community colleges and 200 end-users throughout the State of California. Involved in all aspects of software design and development (Software Development Lifecycle Process) including participating in concept meetings, performing requirements analysis, design, development, unit testing, regression testing, integration testing, system testing, and documentation.

Responsible for software enhancements and maintenance of suite of applications that performed data mining and migration (import/export) between Oracle, Microsoft Access and SQL Server databases. Also included database design and maintenance concepts and programming.

GE Employers' Reinsurance Corporation

Westport Insurance Company

Gathered requirements from clients, prepared specification and design documents (both high level and low level), and implemented a policy issuance system for a large property casualty carrier writing both general liability and commercial automobile insurance throughout 48 states. Combined seamless integration with a legacy COBOL rating application. Implemented and maintained an application that acted as a middleware to interact between the legacy system and policy issuance system for data collection. Mentored staff in coding concepts and maintenance of coded Mosaic model documents in MS Word and other Visual Basic applications. Analyzed and re-wrote large sections of existing code base for efficiency, clarity and ease of maintenance purposes. Analyzed and documented over 2,000 database views and affects on current code base from changes within the COBOL rating system. Prepared SQL queries including complex joins within the model document code base. Also, prepared installation and operating instruction documentation and provided support and training.

Provided technical architect services to the IT group responsible for the implementation of enterprise-wide Calligo document automation system. Provided assistance in the design and coding including SQL queries including complex joins of model documents. Reviewed an existing multi-tiered Visual Basic application and gave recommendations as the location of the various logic units for efficiency and maintainability.

Humana, Inc.

Prepared design documents (both high level and low level) from specifications and development of Visual Basic applications, Active X components, DLL's and COM objects for document automation project integrating various sub-systems for a life/health insurance company. ADO was used in the development of the various components. The design was based on common principles of component and object oriented design, code reuse, distributed processing, malleable configuration settings, and ActiveX technology. Also, prepared installation and operating instruction documentation and provided support and training. Mentored client’s staff in Visual Basic programming methods.

AAA of Michigan

Reviewed and made recommendation of the Calligo model document specifications for personal lines automobile insurance policy issuance system. Designed, implemented and managed the technical team in the coding and testing of the Calligo model documents. The model documents contained SQL queries including complex joins.

Catholic Healthcare West - North State Region

Gathered requirements from clients, prepared specifications and design documents, and developed various Visual Basic tools to migrate three hospitals (1,100 workstations) from various applications (Lotus SmartSuite and WordPerfect) to Microsoft Office.

Planned, developed and implemented the conversion of dBase databases application to new Visual Basic client/server applications, MS Access and MS SQL databases for the various hospital departments. Also, prepared installation and operating instruction documentation and provided support and training.

Planned, designed, implemented and tested complex Excel spreadsheets using Visual Basic for Applications and Macros to automate various calculations and processes. Utilized Microsoft Excel’s Object Library, Excel Macros, extending of Excel and Visual Basic (creating custom functions and handling errors), and gaining access to external data in MS Access and MS SQL (integration with both MS Access and MS SQL). Also, prepared installation and operating instruction documentation and provided support and training.
